Primary SMSC Learning Resources

Primary Resources: growing a generation of caring, concerned citizens

Primary Resources is a bank of resources for primary teachers developed by Young Citizens to help all children become caring, concerned young citizens. It enables children to explore and understand many of the issues facing society and provides them with the knowledge, skills and aptitudes to confront and overcome inequality. It also helps develop children's confidence in their ability to make a positive contribution to their communities. Many of the lessons have a 'social action' activity included.

A school subscription to Primary Resources includes 100+ cross-curricular lessons and assembly plans linked to the new Relationships curriculum as well as PSHE and Citizenship to develop children's spiritual, moral, social and cultural learning (SMSC). We help them build character, explore British values and learn about how our society works so they are ready and able to play their full part in it.

Subscribers also benefit from materials and tools to support planning, assessment and positive behaviour, remote support and whole staff CPD training offers, and much more.

There is also a great free awareness day calendar which you can access here.

If you would like to subscribe and help develop compassionate and caring young citizens in your school, visit our school subscription page here: https://www.youngcitizens.org/subscriptions/

Thanks to funding from Pears Foundation we are able to offer all primary schools in the UK a FREE subscription for the academic year 21/22. Use the code PEARS21-22 to access this resource for your school.
