How to get the best from this training course

How to get the best from this training course

Accessing the online platform

In order to get the best out of the online experience we recommend you use either Chrome or Firefox browsers - check you've got the most up to date version installed. If you have any problems with pictures or videos not appearing automatically, check your browser extensions aren't blocking anything from being downloaded. Basically, if you're not seeing lots of pictures and some videos thrown in for good measure, switch browsers!

Using the materials

The materials on this course are designed to lead you step by step through the Make a Difference Challenge programme from start to finish, giving you a mixture of theory and practical activities to complete with children in order to create a social action project in the primary school. This is done through a mixture of text to read and digest, answering questions about video clips, completing quizzes and watching presentations. There are also handouts containing key points and copies of presentations which you can download now and use later.

Gaining a certificate

This course is certified by the CPD Standards Office and therefore, if you complete the whole course and score 100% in each of the quizzes testing your learning, you will be able to download a CPD certificate validated at 4 hours of CPD.

Length of time needed to complete the course

It should take you around 4 hours to complete all sections of this course. However, you can do this over a few days, or weeks - you don't need to do it all in one sitting. The course will recognise where you got up to when you sign in again.

I need help!

Don't panic - you are now part of a cohort who you are doing the training alongside side you with the help of the Young Citizens team. Everyone is here to cheer you on and lend a hand if you ever find a problem. There are a few ways on how you can reach out:

Via our Community at makeadifferencechallenge.community.teachable.com (maybe Bookmark this link for the future!).

Or if you want to reach out to the Young Citizens team directly, email us at [email protected]

Or via the 'Comments' section at the bottom of each lecture (you can also share ideas with other learners there too).

Good luck - we hope you enjoy this course and feel inspired to go out and do great things with your children in school.
